@Phobos: vorab nur soviel, dass kimeter für seinen 4125/1 in weiß 131,-€ bei Wenninger bezahlt hat, während das Modell mit schwarzem Griff bei TDS 124,-€ kostet (lt. TDS macht bei ihnen die Farbe keinen Preisunterschied).

Nach zwei Absagen, bzw. in gleicher Mission, habe ich jetzt noch eine direkte Anfrage bei Thäter gestellt. Wait we ab....

Rückruf von Kamm Wenninger (Bild per Mail kam an... ): es gibt ihn (unter Vorbehalt) nur in schwarz (Edelkunstharz) und dem Zweiton-Hornfarben (dunkelgrau-hellgrau lt. TDS, auch wenn's "beige" aussieht).

Preis: 4292/3 (23mm): Wenninger 109,-€ (+Versand), TDS: 112,-€ (ab 70,-€ portofrei)

Ha, vielen Dank, das hilft mir sehr viel weiter.
D.h. wenn ich über 150 Euro komme, ist TDS günstiger (keine Versandkosten mehr), ansonsten direkt bei Thäter oder nach München fahren.

Mal schaun, ich wart noch auf ein Prüfungsergebnis, wenn das passt, kann ich mich ja vllt belohnen...

So, jetzt auch Rückmeldung von TDS (haben heute aktuell mit Thäter telefoniert): den 4292 gibt es tatsächlich nicht in elfenbeinfarben, dafür noch als dritte Alternative in Schildpatt, wobei der Griff im Bereich der Bindung eher transparent ("durchscheinend") ist. Also letztendlich Geschmackssache.

Noch eins zur Größe: die Abstufung im Ringmaß lt. Thäter Homepage ist so gering, dass sich TDS quasi auf ein "klein-mittel-groß" (20-23-28mm) beschränkt, weil alles andere bei Betrachtung/Kaufentscheidung irritiert (kaum wahrnehmbar).

Bestellt werden kann - auch bei Wenninger - natürlich alles. Jetzt muss sich nur noch der Hersteller himself zu Wort melden. Aber das kann bekanntlich dauern.

Wow, Thäter brushes are beautiful!

there isn't a lot of talk about these on the US forums.

realizing that each person will have his own opinion, are these in the top tier of the best brushes available on the market today??

in the same league as Rooney and Shavemac?

I own neither Rooney nor Shavemac, but as far as i have read until now, they are at least in the same tier, if not better.

The Thäter 4411, the smallest one, seems to be one of the brushes with the best cost/performance ratio.
Less than 20 bucks for a brush that can make a far more expensive one blush

This brush seems to be brush that is "more dense" than the others.
can anyone confirm this? id be interested to hear thoughts and preferences regarding the density of the Thäter brushes.

also, what does the website say regarding the relationship to simpsons brushes and the simpson factory?

Hi Josh,

first excuse my English. I've owned a similiar one to this (was for sale) with a black handle but it was to small for my issues. It's really dense and it bears comparison with a Simpson. Actually I own a Roony, a Simpson and a Shavemac and I think I will go for a Thäter to complete my "band". I think you can't go wrong with that model.

i recieved mine today and the different scent is OUTSTANDING!
samples, beautiful packaging, and VERY fast shipping.

and of course the most important the brush is very nice, however they sent me the Chubby II instead of the Chubby I which i ordered. i do like the size and have it here compared to a couple other brushes for comparison.
